Kuwait International Airport is located in Farwaniya, Kuwait, 10 km south of Kuwait City. The airport is the hub for Kuwait Airways. Part of the airport is the Mubarak Air Base, which includes the headquarters of the Kuwait Air Force and the Kuwait Air Force Museum.

As Kuwait City's main air gateway, Kuwait International Airport specializes in regional and international scheduled passenger and cargo transport, serving more than 25 airlines. Kuwait International Airport covers an area of 37.07 square kilometers and has an altitude of 63 meters (206 feet) above sea level. The airport has two runways: a 15R/33L concrete runway of 3,400 meters by 45 meters and a 15L/33R asphalt runway of 3,500 meters by 45 meters.
